One
morning a friend called in a panic. Her
Havenese
had puppies and then the new
mother
became extremely ill. I made a few
phone
calls and found someone with a Shih
Tzu
mom that she had just weaned the day before. I picked up the one
day old Havenese puppies, picked up the Shih Tzu mom (Vanity)
and
brought them all home. Vanity cared for these babies as if she had
whelped them herself--even when they grew to be almost
her
size.
Since
Vanity's owner wanted to downsize her
current
breeding stock, we took Vanity into
our
breeding program. She and Striker's first litter produced Sukara's
L'il Caesar D'Livrs...
now
a Champion. (see puppy page for photo). Striker and Vanity also produced
our "Gilda". |
